Movie Monday: Foreign Correspondent
Alfred Hitchcock was one of the best directors of the 20th Century. His movies are not provocative societal commentary, he never won a competitive Oscar award, and yet his body of work is not only prolific, but high-quality as well. I am amazed at how many people who have never seen classics like North by Northwest or Rear Window will watch much of the mediocrity that Hollywood churns out. Bull Durham is 20 years old
I know I will date myself here, but I saw Bull Durham with my friend Mike at the Ruby Isle Theater for $1.50 (price approximate). I have the DVD, and I do call Jackson “meat” under my breath when he pitches to me. One of the kids on our team even has a Bulls cap.
